A Practitioner Who Sees the Whole Person
Himani Arora is the founder and lead practitioner at Brave Mental Health. As a registered Behaviour Support Practitioner, she brings over 5 years of hands-on experience supporting individuals with autism, ADHD, intellectual disability, and complex mental health needs across Melbourne.
Himani’s approach is rooted in Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) — an evidence-based framework that focuses on understanding the function of behaviour, improving quality of life, and building real skills. She doesn’t believe in managing or suppressing behaviour through punishment. Instead, she asks the more important question: “What is this behaviour trying to communicate?”
Himani’s Philosophy
Himani describes her role as a “curious detective and coach.” She starts by genuinely listening — to the individual, to their family, and to the people who support them. She understands that behaviour doesn’t happen in isolation. It’s shaped by environment, sensory experience, trauma history, communication ability, and the relationships around a person.
Every Behaviour Support Plan Himani writes is practical, person-centred, and written in plain language that families and support workers can actually use — not just NDIS auditors.
